The Association of Maternal & Child health Programs held its 2017 annual conference from March 3rd through 7th. The AMHCP awarded our program director Dr. Christy Bethell with the John C MacQueen Lecture Award, which honors major contributors and innovators in the field of Maternal and Child Health (MCH). Edward Schor, senior vice president for programs and partnerships at the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health, nominated Dr. Bethell stating: “Her contributions are used daily by MCH professionals, child health clinicians, researchers and policymakers... [she is] one of the most influential people in child health measurement in the U.S.” Dr. Bethell was invited to deliver the Macqueen Lecture on March 5th. Her lecture: “Leveraging the Science of Engagement to Catalyze an Epidemic of Health and Thriving in MCH” aimed to build upon the conference theme of Engagement with Intention.
